One Room Challenge: Part 1
THE CHALLENGE BEGINS ON APRIL 5TH
What an amazing opportunity to participate as a guest in this One Room Challenge! I am so excited to get motivated to finish my girls bedroom.
The One Room Challenge™, currently in its eleventh season, is a widely anticipated biannual event every April and October. Each round, twenty design bloggers take the challenge and transform a space. Every Wednesday, the designers document their process while sharing their sources and professional advice over the six weekly posts.
In addition to following along, everyone with a blog, is welcome to join the fun as a Guest Participant by linking their own room transformations up during the six weeks. Each Thursday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, ideas, and encouragement.
To date, more than 1,250 rooms have been transformed through the One Room Challenge™. The event, and many of the spaces, have been recognized and featured.
Today is day ONE! of this six week challenge! I am stoked about doing a total room makeover to get our daughter's room with both beds finished and looking amazing! I will be using my favorite vendors and I will list and link everything I find as I blog every Thursday about the process the next six weeks. So subscribe to make sure you do not miss out! Below I will show you the before pictures and explain the design challenge goals. Next week I will show you what I've found for inspiration and specific items and finishes.
I love this challenge and process because it gives you a clear illustration of my step by step process I do for each and every client I help.
Currently my second child is still sleeping with me. So I haven't been motivated to get her a bed. But now she is sleeping through the night it's time for her own bed. I sold her crib and changing table awhile back, and this spot has been currently holding the stroller when it's not in use.
- Problem #1 find a storage spot for the stroller.
- Problem #2 find a new spot for the rocking chair and ottoman.
- Problem #3 remove currently decorations and make more modern.
These doors are functional and I love the white, but they are too plain. I must treat these doors.
Everything looks cluttered and not calm enough for sleeping.
My oldest's bed is perfect clean white with grey, I just want to remove the canopy now and make it look more big girl style.
The drapes are black out lined - I sewed them myself. But the flowers and colors are just too busy now and not working for the look I envision for both of them. Which is black grey and white country modern with pastel rose colored accents. More pictures of my inspiration and color scheme will be in my next post next Thursday. Here is the color I found through House Beautiful by Sherwin Williams.... Stay tuned!!!!
