The Art of Wall Garden
Whether you love to garden and have a green thumb or if you wish you had a green thumb you will love these ideas. My design philosophy is that every space needs to bring the outside in. You can accomplish this with real plants or silk plants.
You can put plants in containers or glass orbs and place on shelves and table tops. You can also hang plants from the ceilings or hooks. Plus if you want to get even more clever with your wall décor, you can hang your plants on the walls! This can easily be accomplished with a little hands on planning and do-ing.
Take a look at the ideas below and get inspired to get creative and start decorating!
This is my favorite way to bring the garden in to your home and fill a wall space in a clever and different way. Click HERE for the tutorial.
I love reading Joanna Gaines blog and swing what she comes up with. She is on my same wave length when it comes to styling a space. An easy, clean line, down to earth look. Whether it is more industrial or country, her designs inspire me even though my design style has more of a California coastal modern vibe. Just as her I strive for my client's to love where they live and create attainable and functional beauty. You can see my projects HERE.
Another source of inspiration for me is the French design journels. I love their innovative and clean modern designs. How about trying a clever live garden on your wall, as it actively climbs and changes weekly. A modern wire hexoganol frame is the anchor that the plant climbs on to bring greenery up and over the sofa. I just love this! And will do a DIY tutorial on it soon! Stay tuned! Plants in containers hanging on walls is an easy and cost effective way to bring life into your home. I get my from California Greenhouse and Succulents off Warner. And there are beautiful containers shown below. This corner in my home is one of my favorites. The hooks hold keys, jackets, purses, and plants.
The metal containers above might not be available anymore, but I've seen a lot similar to these on Etsy.
There is a little cart at the mall, Fashion Island Newport Beach, near my house that makes these special arrangements of all varieties in glass globe terrariums and I just love them. They come with their own hook stands, but hanging them on existing coat hooks on wood makes them even more elegant.
My goal was to open your eyes and mind to think out of the box and bring the beauty and life of the outside in to your home and on your walls. Please comment if I have achieved this goal and motivated you. And please post any questions!
Thanks and happy decorating!
